Luvo Cookie Policy
This policy explains how the Luvo mobile app and website (luvo.elvarsystems.co.uk) use cookies and similar tracking technologies. Luvo is operated by Elvar Systems Ltd (“we”, “us”), registered in the United Kingdom.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files stored on your device that allow us and third-party services to recognise you, remember your preferences, and understand how you use our App and website. We also use similar technologies like local storage and session identifiers.
2. Cookies we use
Session cookies: These temporary cookies keep you logged in while you use the App and are deleted when you close the app or log out. Essential for authentication and security.
Analytics cookies (PostHog): We use PostHog to understand how users interact with the App — which screens are visited, feature usage patterns, and performance metrics. PostHog may set cookies to recognise returning users and track usage across sessions. We identify you to PostHog only by a pseudonymous account identifier and do not send your name or email. Whether analytics run by default depends on where you are: in the EU, UK and EEA they stay OFF until you opt in; elsewhere they are on by default under our legitimate interest, with an opt-out in the App settings (see section 4).
Website analytics (PostHog, cookieless): On our website (luvo.elvarsystems.co.uk) we run PostHog in a cookieless mode — it sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device (in-memory only), creates no personal profile, and records only anonymous page visits and app-store link clicks. Because nothing is stored on your device, this needs no cookie banner or consent, and we honour your browser’s Do-Not-Track signal.
Error tracking cookies (Sentry): We use Sentry to capture crash reports and errors. Sentry may use cookies as part of its session replay feature (if enabled) to help diagnose issues. Session replays are encrypted and deleted after 30 days.
3. Third-party cookies
Apple and Google (Sign-in and Push Notification services) may set cookies or use similar identifiers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
4. Controlling cookies
Most browsers allow you to control cookies via settings. You can delete existing cookies and block new ones, though this may affect App functionality.
To opt out of PostHog analytics within the App, you can disable analytics in the App settings (this also respects the “Do Not Track” browser setting if present).
5. Cookie consent
Essential cookies (session, security) are used automatically. For analytics, what we show you when you first use the Luvo App depends on your region: in the EU, UK and EEA you see an opt-in prompt and analytics stay off until you actively allow them; elsewhere a short notice informs you that analytics are on by default under our legitimate interest. Crash and error reporting runs under that same legitimate-interest basis. You can change your analytics choice at any time in the App settings. Our website itself sets no analytics or advertising cookies — its analytics are cookieless — so it displays no cookie banner.
6. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and let you know of material changes in the App or via email.
